On March 10th, 2007, Radio 91 held its 4th Annual “Big Bowling Bash” at the Cherry Bowl in Cherry Valley.  Of the 27 teams competing for prizes, one team came prepared with protection from the rumored wild style bowling of Ron Tietsort. Many prizes were given out, including awards to the highest scoring team on down to the individual with the lowest score. The afternoon was filled with fun, food, and most importantly spending time with the Radio 91 Family! Thank you to our friends and family of Radio 91! You made our fundraising event a huge success!

On September 9, 2006 Radio 91’s Charmel Jacobs emceed, the Rockford Area Pregnancy Care Center’s annual "Hike
For Life” fundraiser. Many walkers turned out to walk and raise funds for the RAPCC. In Rockford, the RAPCC is an
organization that restores hope, offers healing, and empowers their clients to make informed pregnancy related

All of those in attendance, including their pets walked for
“Sanctity of Human Life” and to help the Rockford Area Pregnancy Care Center to continue their efforts to help women
and their families in times of criss of an expected or unexpected pregnancy.

In October of 2006 Radio 91 joined dozens of local businesses at Boylan High School, to promote drug awareness with
young people at the Annual Red Ribbon Campaign Fun Fair. There was much activity going on that day between food
booths, game booths, and information on alerting young people about the dangers of drugs and prevention of taking drugs.

Among the several booths that were on display, Radio 91 had their “Plinko” game and several prizes for the winners.
Many stopped by our booth to play, including the Green Giant "Sprout" and Senator Dave Syverson.

The biggest highlight was the award Radio 91 was received. Paul Perroni, the Director of the Red Ribbon Fun Fair,
awarded us a plaque that recognized our contribution to making a difference in lives of others in the stateline area.

On Saturday Nov. 18th, Radio 91 and our sister station Positive Hits 101 QFL competed to see whose listeners could bring in more turkeys and hams for our “Second Annual Tons of Turkeys and Hundreds of Hams” remote at the Highcrest Shopping Center in Rockford, IL.

It was a tight race all afternoon between the two stations. Everything pointed to a win for Radio 91 with 1682 pounds of turkey and 19 hams, until the last thirty minutes of our event. Our sister station, WQFL, pulled ahead bringing in 1753 pounds of turkey and 21 hams. 101 QFL was declared the winner for the second time in row.

Even though we lost the competition, the biggest winner for the day was the Northern Illinois Food Bank, the recipients of our donated goods. The collected turkeys and hams will be distributed to needy families around the stateline area for their Thanksgiving dinners.

We wish to thank all of listeners who came out and supported Radio 91 and the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Be ready next year to take us victory. As the say the “third time is a charm!”
